Frank McCourt got his first book out at age 66 and the second at age 69. The first was "Angela's Ashes" followed by "Tis". I have read both and now I am looking for "Teacher Man" , a memoir. He was an English high school teacher for 30 years and wrote of his struggles as a teacher. I know I should be able to relate to them.
What keeps some of us going as teachers is the thought that we are doing something worthwhile even if only one child is influenced by us!
