family tradition
Conversation between son and me in car on the way back from his school.
Son: Must I really uphold the family tradition?
Me: Huh? What tradition?
Son: Dad says that no one has failed before from his side and your side of the family.
What would you have replied to him?

:) Your son has a mind of an adult. He sounds like a mentally mature child and intelligent.

Your son is pretty mature. But statements like the ones given by your husband can give him unnecessary stress and expectations.

I would tell him that he is a smart boy and does not have to worry about failing.
