single burial plot

The wife died at 45 after succumbing to cancer. The husband wanted to get 2 burial plots,

next to each other. But his mum -in-law stopped him from doing so.

What do you say to that?

  • Why not? I thought it's common to buy 2 lots. Can't understand why the MIL is not in favor of it.

  • MIL has no say, unless she's paying for the plots.

  • anonymous, If her daughter were alive, MIL would not object

doc, MIL has good intentions, paving the way for the son in law to remarry should he choose to do so ( high probability)

  • Just me, interesting point of view. I would never have thought of that.
