Son wrote me a note ( on a paper drawing block size!) and stuck it on his room door, after an "episode" I had with him. Irony was that I didn't read the note until much later.
Note says , " I am uncomfortable with you when you....."

No never but then we were never allowed to speak our minds as it was deemed to be disrespectful.
Nowadays, kids are taught to be self expressive which is supposed to be better for them and brings out the confidence in them. I don't know if it is true.
