senior citizen
The nasi lemak stall I frequent always has a queue. It is located at the Taman Megah morning market, next to the vegetable stall on the left if you enter the market from the 7-11 entrance. On that particular morning, I noticed a senior citizen waiting for his turn. I alerted the seller and requested that she serve him first. I added that even the senior citizens get served first when they visit government counters. The seller replied that the senior citizen can wait for his turn as he is strong ( she came to this conclusion because he goes for a morning walk every morning) What do you think?

there's really no harm in respecting the seniors - in fact, it shows that you have been brought up well by your own parents.
in any case, if you let the senior go before your turn, the stall-keeper shouldn't complain. everyone is a customer!

you showed your respect and that was an important sign for him. The stall keeper shouldn't have a problem with it.

Hmm, I won't claim that I'm so gentlemanly but if they look old and frail, I usually give in.

I wouldn't speak for the others in the queue but I'd the the elderly go first.

Eve's got a point tho'. Some Seniors do take offence..esp. Ladies. Kinda like a wake-up call on how old they look.

Depends la. Perhaps he wouldn't want preferential treatment since he is still able-bodied, but who knows he would also welcome the courtesy.

I totally agree with you that Sr Citizen shud go first. Sometimes I wonder what out society is becoming, over here oso lidat, at the airport, stupid aircrafts board first class and business class passengers first without any regard to old people and people travelling with small children.
