history project
Daughter has this history project to do. She wants me to be the focus of her project. She has to write about a family "tokoh". I told her to write about her dad instead, telling her that he was the oen who obtained a first class honours. She said that I struggled against more odds to be where I am and she prefers to choose me. Okay, maybe I should feel honoured?

It is indeed an honor to be considered "tokoh" by your own child more than anything else. I've been "begging" my son to enter an essay for "best mom" competition this year because the prize is a new laptop and he can write very well. In short you are lucky your daughter thinks highly of you, hehe. Me, on the other hand very thick skin, can self-proclaim "best mom" and then twist his arm to write the essay so can win prize. :P

err... if it is a history project, shouldn't it be about some family members who had past away?
Just thinking

Hmm, where does your daughter get that impression from? The 'struggle more' thing? Just curious.

firehorse, maybe she doesn't have much choice, having to choose between her dad and me haha
yenjai, a family member who is still alive. My niece chose me also when she was in the secondary school
jonzz, well, she knew that I was the first one in my family of 8 kids and only daughter to make it to the "U".Hubby is one of many graduates in his family.I was a high achiever in school ( had my report cards to prove it ha ha)and she has seen all that, did it without attending any tuition class as my late dad could not afford it
eve, your girl will choose you too, wait and see

Yes, get it all down in black and white. Can be used for guilt trips in the future. Hehe.

Well, since I haven't read any of "dad's" works, I'll say your daughter has chosen well. Congrats on having a daugther who thinks so much of you. Enjoy it.
