simple me

ook a quick look around the coffee shop and decided on ordering fried koay teow as take-away. After placing my order,

a loud sound was heard, accompanied by the screeching of car brakes. Obviously an accident has occurred. The koay teow seller, instead of

attending to my order, rushed out and I was left waiting , for more than 10 minutes. I wondered why he was so interested in the accident , to the

extent of ignoring my order.

On his return, I overheard him on his cell phone, informing someone to bring the tow truck over. I knew then that he has gone to do.

check out the accident and there must be something lucrative for him to be an informer ( better that than to attend to my meagre 2 packets

koay toew order)

So, imagine this man , who sells koay toew , but has his ear tuned to the other lucrative business. I make many choices and decisions daily.

I have to consciously choose to listen to the voice of the flesh or the voice of the Spirit. Knowing very well that it is more to my spiritual benefit

and from an eternal perspective to make the better choice, am I ever so ready to submit to the Holy Spirit and act immediately when I hear

His prompting. Or do I dilly dally and lose the opportunity to be God's hands and legs when the opportunity presents itself to bless someone?

Thomas the disciple, is known as doubting Thomas. But I have just learnt that his name means "twin " in Hebrew. All of us has a Thomas in us.

We can choose to listen to our the voice of our evil twin, ( flesh) or the voice of our good twin. ( spirit) May we choose wisely.

PMR exam

It was the first day of my daughter's PMR exam. I was focussed on upholding her in prayer during the time when she was actually

sitting for the papers. Imagine my surprise when I discovered at the end of the day, after her papers have ended, that I was wearing a pair

of unmatched sandals. They were both in the same colour and height but of completely different designs.

This speaks to me of 2 things. One, if only I would allow myself to be so focussed on Jesus daily, I will not be so easily distracted

by anything that comes my way. Hebrews 3 v 1 "...fix your thoughts on Jesus..."

On discovering that I was wearing the wrong pair of shoes, I quickly went to to change into a matching pair. Thinking to myself,

how quickly will I respond if I am convicted of a sin in my life ? Or do I allow my spirit to be numbed and not respond

in repentance?

Prayer: That my heart will always be a heart of flesh and always sensitive to the Holy Spirit

imitator and counterfeit

Most schools have an official attire , of the same colour and design, for their staff to wear at school functions. My school is no exception.

A suitable batik material was chosen and bulk orders made. Imagine the disappointment and unpleasant surprise when the materials were

delivered but the tone of the colour of the material and even the design were unsatifactory. It was indeed a poor "imitation "of the original.

It was revealed later that the original workers could not handle the bulk orders and so a different group of workers was responsible for the poor quality job.

We are living in the last days and our enemy is working hard to "imitate" or "counterfeit" God's works and miracles. But I am reminded of my response in

Ehesians 5 v 1 " Be imitators of God." and v 8 ".. to live as children of light."

I used to think that to protect myself against the deceived works of the enemy, I need to be informed of all the "deceptive" characteristics of the

enemy. I thought that I should focus on him and his ways so as to protect myself against him. Then I read of how the US treasury officials trained their

workers to detect counterfeit notes. They were only given genuine notes to handle , day in and day out. Their hands got so used to touching and

feeling the genuine that when a counterfeit note was deliberately placed in between the genuine, they spotted the false note straight away.

So, am reminding myself here ..pS 63 V 1 " O God, You are my God,earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for you.." seeking God day in and day out

should help me to recognise the false christ when he appears before me, right?
